A significant portion will be dedicated to the intricacies of Individualized Education Program (IEP) preparation, emphasizing the criticality of organization and thorough documentation. In the second segment, Tiffany Cook will demystify the concept of Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE) and introduce participants to the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. Attendees will gain insights into the structure and purpose of MTSS, its foundational elements, and the three tiers of support it offers. We’ll also navigate the evaluation, eligibility, and IEP processes, highlighting the importance of parental involvement and the safeguards in place to protect your rights. Lastly, Dr. Milsap will guide participants through various evaluations used in educational settings, the significance of Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs), and the challenges in interpreting test scores. The workshop will conclude with an exploration of Executive Functioning, its role in cognitive processes, and its influence on academic and daily life.
